Paula and the Pirates

ALS Student Advisor, Paula, was out and about in Poole over the weekend promoting Harry Paye Day which will be held on 21 June.

Each year, the Pirates of Poole, supported by groups such as Belly Fusion, with whom Paula dances, hold a free fun day. The purpose of this is to support and raise money for local charities working with people with disabilities. This year, among others, charities include the Lewis-Manning Hospice and the Victoria School

Harry Paye was a privateer and smuggler from Poole who died in 1419. He spent a considerable amount of time attacking the coasts of France & Spain as well as helping to quell the Wesh revolts. If you want to see Paula dressed in her best wench’s kit and dancing, come down to Poole on 21 June.
